Datos habituales

Datos habituales
EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) is a long-chain omega-3 fatty acid found mainly in fish and seafood; it is a structural part of cell membranes and one of the omega-3s the body uses throughout the heart, blood vessels, and other systems.
Ingesta baja
The body makes only small amounts of EPA from ALA, so low seafood intake is commonly discussed in relation to lower omega-3 status; a defined shortfall state is rare.
Ingesta más alta
Very high EPA and DHA from supplements is commonly discussed in relation to loose stools, a fishy aftertaste, and easier bleeding among people taking blood thinners; the FDA notes an upper figure of 5 grams a day of combined EPA and DHA from supplements.
