Temulawak (Java turmeric)
Temulawak (Curcuma zanthorrhiza), Indonesia's flagship rhizome, a distinct species from common turmeric (Curcuma longa); used fresh, dried, or as a powder in jamu and capsules. It carries curcumin along with its own aromatic constituent xanthorrhizol.

Temulawak is well tolerated at normal culinary amounts. Very high or prolonged doses have occasionally been linked to changes in liver-enzyme readings; keep to label or culinary amounts and talk with a clinician if you take other medicines.
